First things first: happy new year everyone! I hope you all had the best time celebrating the start of 2018. We spend it at home eating lots of appetizers and homemade pizza, I loved it. Let’s start off the new year on the blog with a new project home blog post. This one will be all about our new living room.
We’re really happy with how our living room turned out in the apartment so we are taking all of our furniture with us to the new house. We will even use the same paint on the walls, so it’s basically copy + paste apartment to house. The new living room is slightly bigger than the one we have now though, so we have to add a couple new pieces.
Between our entry and living room we want to place a large glass door. This will give us some extra light in the living room and make it appear brighter and more open.
I’m thinking about adding a bar cart or some nicely decorated bookshelves. But to be honest we probably need a practical storage space to store stuff we can’t put in the kitchen cabinets. Boring. We also are on the lookout for a nice rug to put under the coffee table. We never found one that was the right size and matched the floor in the apartment, so it would be nice if we can find one for the house.
Our biggest dilemma right now is deciding whether we want to go with a wooden floor or tiles. We both love the look of wood but it’s expensive and it might cause problems with our underfloor heating. Sigh. When I went trough my Pinterest living room board I noticed I subconsciously only pinned images with wooden floors, so it might be worth to invest in if I love it that much. We’re checking out floors this Saturday, so that will hopefully be one less problem to think about. Fingers crossed.
